BASIC RULES OF TEXAS HOLD'EM
This is the most popular variant of poker games and all the infamous marquee tournaments around the world like, WSOP, EPT, WPT, etc. are played in variation of this game.
However, do not be fooled by the simplicity of this game, due to the high number of possible situations in the game, when played at high stakes this can be very complex. Thus, the popular expression with poker – "It takes a moment to learn, but years to master this game".
At the beginning of the game Texas Hold ‘em poker every player is dealt with two cards with their face down. These cards are called as your ‘hole cards’. This is followed by a round of betting, here you have the option to either Bet, Check or Fold. This stage is called as the pre-flop round and whatever you chose to do depend on the hole cards or your starting hand as many also call it.
After all the betting is over in this round, three cards with face up are dealt in the middle of the table. This is called as the flop round!
After the flop round another card is dealt with its face up, which form the fourth shared card. This is called as the turn.
Then again there is another round of betting with a final shared card being dealt in the middle of the table. This is called the river and is followed by the final betting round.

For instance, if you have 6-6 in your hole cards and the shared cards at the table are 6-6-A-2-5, then you will have four of a kind. But if the shared cards were 9-Q-J-7-2, then you would only have 2 sixes.
Often the best hands in Texas Hold ‘em is made with the five shared cards on their own. Like for example if the shared cards show, 7-7-7-7-A and you had 6-6, then your hole cards would play at all since four of a kind already exists on the table with the higher value showing!
One where the players in a hand turn over their hole cards and so the player with the best hand wins. This is called as a showdown.
The other being that someone bets a lot intimidating others to fold. This is how most games end in Texas Hold ‘em, which is the magic of the game – one does not always need the best hands to win!

The game starts with your hole cards dealt, then betting starts. The players staying get to see the flop, another betting round.
